CHARACTER
Name: Kara
True Name: AX400 #579 102 694
Canon: Detroit: Become Human (Right after the Good Ending)
Age: 6 (Mentally an adult, physically in early 30s)
History: Boop
Powers/Abilities: Kara comes with a vast assortment of abilities, owing to her status as a multi-use Android suited for any modern home.
As she was designed to literally be a model caretaker. She is capable of working tirelessly, and dutifully around the house, handling both the simpler chores, and the more difficult tasks assigned to her such as caring for children and helping them with their homework. Even as a "simpler" Android, her model still boasts an impressive repertoire of skills: her personality was programmed to make her naturally good with children, she's capable of speaking 300 (Earth) languages, has 9000 children stories stored in her mind palace, and can cook more than 9000 different dishes. All on top of having a constant internet and phone connection (at least when David Cage remembered those things).
Since she's an Android, Kara has no real need to eat or sleep, though she can sleep if she wants, and is capable of ingesting Thirium 310 AKA 'Blue Blood' to keep herself active if she has lost some already. There's also the whole Quantic Battery thing from her short that allows her to operate autonomously for up to 173 years, but I'm not entirely sure whether that's still canon or not.
Unlike other Androids, though, Kara has no natural skill in combat. Leaving her about as useful in a fight as any average joe human. But she's at least semi-capable when it comes to using guns, so there's that!
Inventory:
- The clothes on her back. Stolen, of course.
- That's it.
Job History:
- Caretaker
As this is what Kara's Android type was designed for, this is what Kara has done. Time, and time again, she's been exchanged from one pair of hands to the next, performing menial tasks around homes. Ordinary housekeeper work, like cleaning messes, folding laundry, cooking meals, and tending to any children present, as she was designed to do. Eventually, she would metaphorically land in the hands of Todd Williams.
- Caretaker
Here, as Todd's housekeeper, Kara did much of the same tasks as before. Taking care of Alice, his daughter, preparing food, keeping things as neat as possible or ordering new things if they were needed. Also she was regularly beaten to the point that she required repairs and memory wipes, fun stuff! This ended when she shot Todd to death with his own gun.
- Caretaker (evil)
For an extremely brief time, Kara was forcefully mindwiped by a conniving Android-torturer named Zlatko, turning Kara into one of his assistant Androids who would do whatever was asked of them. This lasted about... ten minutes, until Kara's memories resurfaced, and she was able to regain control of herself and escape.
Suppressions:
- Inhumanity
Kara, for possibly obvious reasons, struggles sometimes (and fails) with suppressing what is an obvious fact about her - namely, things that point to her being an Android, and not a human. This surfaces mainly in her desire and need to protect Alice and prove that she can be a perfect, loving parent to the young girl. This desire pressed on Kara's mind, even before she went Deviant, to the point that she would unknowingly lie to herself that Alice was human when she, too, was an Android. Just so she could believe that a Human truly loved her as a mother.
- Survival
Above all, Kara is focused on the survival of herself and Alice throughout their attempts to escape Detroit. It's this instinct to live that keeps Kara going, all while attempting to repress her many, many fears. She is, of course, a rouge android, in a city that despised Androids before they started achieving sentience. Add on the fact that she murdered her "owner" and that leaves a fugitive who needs to keep her head down and avoid any suspicion from humans and other androids alike. All of this culminates in non-stop running, trying to appear as human as possible before somebody catches them.
- Memory issues
Whether it's due to a burgeoning spark of a soul, the repetitive and damaging process of memory wipes after frequent repairs, or some combination therein, Kara has noticeable difficulty recalling memories accurately. While it doesn't always happen, being reset so often left her with 'ghosts' of memories she slowly recalls. What's worse, she's been prone to blocking out particular memories, letting her subconscious hide the truth. Even from herself, as mentioned in the prompt about Kara's inhumanity. Particularly hard truths Kara has to confront might require some additional help.
Greatest Fear: Others discovering that she's an Android, and separating her from Luther and Alice.
Greatest Desire: To be accepted by humans, and to live among them without fear of being treated like anything less. Also to prove herself as just as capable a parent as any human.
Greatest Regret: Just how much she could have done to help the Android revolution, only to run off and protect her little family instead. (It's not a Big regret).
Sample: This should hopefully be enough.
