History: Behold the horror

Personality: As a AX400 Android, Kara was pleasant and obedient. She obeyed every command without question... until she decided not to.

Long before she came to be possessed by the abusive Todd, Kara had been experiencing little "glitches," small bouts of true sentience that helped her down the path towards what people of Detroit would eventually label as Deviancy - when an Android achieves true sentience and can decide to disobey their master. It started on the assembly line, Kara expressing wonder at her own creation, and fear at the thought of being disassembled for being who she was. She was still sold, but the "glitches" persisted, and Kara would express herself many times after. Still afraid of being destroyed, of course, she would risk her life anyway to try and protect what truly mattered to her: the safety of Alice, the young girl Kara was supposed to care for.

After being destroyed by Todd for this act, repaired, and memory-wiped several times, it is Alice being put in danger that finally allows Kara to break through her programming, and achieve full deviancy. The way she cares for Alice goes beyond just numbers and code. She wants nothing more than to be the sort of mother that Alice deserves, and give her all the attention a human would want... Except Alice isn't a human. She's an Android child, and Kara deludes herself into believing that she is human, because she wants to prove to herself that she can be a true parent. It's dumb and David Cage needed a plot twist. The point is that Kara's grown past that now and is still resolute in caring for Alice and being a good parent without requiring commands.

Kara's empathy extends not only to Alice, either. Along her journey she meets a number of people who she either helps or simply spends time with, and her even-tempered and goodnatured personality endears her to most of them. She bonds quickly with Luther, another Android who joins her and Alice on their journey, confiding and potentially feeling affection for him. She loves Alice, of course, and gets along well with humans like Rose, who want to help them. Her newfound humanity also lends Kara an unfortunate amount of naivete. On the run from police, looking for a way to safety, Kara finds a man named Zlatko, who takes advantage of her desperation and nearly reprograms her into a slave robot. Sure, she escapes and sets fire to his house, but that's still a mistake she regrets.

Desperation is, actually, one of Kara's driving forces. While Kara musters the courage to take risks and go to long lengths to ensure the safety of those she loves, she does so with a healthy amount of fear and awareness. She becomes tense and fearful, but her bravery shines through in that she doesn't panic. Graceful under pressure describes her very well. Whether it's lying to a police officer, or ruining across a busy street to escape Connor. She'll stop to save her friends, or steal money, or take a couple's bus tickets. Even if it's dangerous, and even if she knows it's better not to, she has to take the risk and do what's best for those she cares about.

Overall, for someone who is not Human, Kara shows a lot of humanity's best qualities, even if she has faults of her own. And she is resolute in the fact that not only does she deserve to be free, but she's bringing her daughter with her. She's only human, after all.

Powers: Kara was designed to literally be a model caretaker. She works tirelessly, and dutifully around the house, handling both the simpler chores, and the more difficult tasks assigned to her like caring for children and helping them with their homework. Even as a "simpler" Android, she boasts a number of abilities: she is naturally good with children, speaks 300 languages, has 9000 children stories in her mind palace, and cook more than 9000 different dishes on top of having a constant internet and phone connection (at least when David Cage remembered those things).

If your character does not have canon powers and you would like for them to receive powers for this game, or if they have canon powers and you want them to get a game power anyway, then choose from the list of powers available on the powers page. Just listing the power name and other relevant information (like element type) is fine.

Luonto: What is your character's Luonto shape? Name the animal species and include any important details here.

Immunity: As an Android, Kara is immune to the Rash, yes.

Inventory: This is anything your character physically had on them at their canon point. These items are the only items from home your character will be bringing with them. Only items that are listed here can be with your character in this game!

Questions: Pick 2-3 of the questions listed on the app page and answer them thoroughly. This is one of the most important sections of the app, so take your time here! You should be answering the questions as the player being asked to extrapolate about their character.

Links: Please provide 1-5 links from previous threads involving this character. They can be from a TDM, game threads from another game, meme threads, or PSL threads. They just need to have happened within the last year, and they need to be the same version of the character that you are apping to this game. There should be a minimum of 10 comments from your character.

Other: Anything else? Any questions, any information that doesn't fit into the above section? Leave it in this section here.
